Put Outdoormap Greenland on your phone

No technical experience needed. Follow these steps to install Cartograph on iPhone, iPad, or Android, unlock PRO, and prepare the app for your offline Greenland maps.

Before you start

You only need a few things

  • Your phone or tablet
  • A reliable internet connection
  • Your Apple or Google account
  • About 10 minutes

Step 1

Install the Cartograph Maps 3 app

Choose the type of device you are holding. The app is free to install; the PRO upgrade happens inside the app later.

iPhone or iPad

Download from the App Store

  1. Tap the button below.
  2. On the App Store page, tap Get.
  3. Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple password.
  4. When installation finishes, tap Open.

Android phone or tablet

Download from Google Play

  1. Tap the button below.
  2. On the Google Play page, tap Install.
  3. Wait while the app downloads to your device.
  4. When installation finishes, tap Open.

Steps 2-5

Unlock the PRO version

PRO is needed for the Outdoormap Greenland map package and its offline features. The screenshots are from an iPhone; Android uses the same names and almost the same layout.

Open Cartograph

Allow the basic permissions

The first time Cartograph opens, it may ask for location access. Choose Allow While Using App so the map can show your position. You may adjust the other suggested settings or leave them at their defaults.

Seeing an ordinary online map is correct. Your offline Greenland map will be added later.

Open the purchase screen

Tap the menu, then tap PRO

  1. Tap the round menu button at the upper right.
  2. In the grid of choices, find the tile labelled PRO.
  3. Tap PRO once.

Choose how to pay

Select a subscription or lifetime license

Cartograph normally offers four ways to activate all PRO features:

  • Monthly subscription
  • Half-year subscription
  • Yearly subscription
  • Lifetime license, paid once

For a short trial, the monthly option is the smallest commitment. Tap Activate beside your choice and confirm the purchase through Apple or Google.

Prices vary by country and store. Use the price shown on your own phone. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel them in your Apple or Google account.

Check the result

Make sure PRO is active

Return to the PRO screen after payment. Your chosen product should show as active, and the PRO reminder in the app may disappear.

If the upgrade does not appear

  1. Make sure the purchase completed in the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Open the PRO screen again and tap Restore.
  3. Close Cartograph completely and reopen it.

One last preparation

Hide the default online map

This leaves an empty map screen ready for Outdoormap Greenland. A blank screen at the end of these steps is expected.

    Open the main menu and tap Maps.

  2. 2

    At the top of the Maps screen, tap Online.

  3. 3

    Tap the blue eye beside OpenStreetMap.org. The eye becomes white and crossed out.

  4. 4

    Tap Close. The map screen is now ready.

You are ready

Next: choose your Greenland map

Download maps over reliable Wi-Fi and keep Cartograph open while it processes the files. Large maps can take several minutes.
